Babes in Christ Training Series Orientation

You have come forth from the waters of baptism and your sins have been forgiven and there is a new power at work in your life. You were willing to count yourself nothing and now God has raised you up to newness of life and purpose.

Before we actually begin this bible study program, Please take a moment and ask yourself what your baptism into Jesus Christ meant to you. Why did you do it? If you keep this in a safe place it will mean a great deal to you for years to come. It will also remind you of the serious commitment that you made when you were added to the body of Christ.

Luke 9:18-20 “And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, “Who do the crowds say that I am?”
19 So they answered and said, “John the Baptist, but some say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again.”
20 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered and said, “The Christ of God.”

Luke 18:28-30 “Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.”
29 So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, 30 who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Colossians 3:1-4 “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

One of the things a Christian learns very quickly is that there is much that he or she doesn't know or understand. This should in no way discourage you. It just means you have a life time of growing and developing ahead of you. It will never be boring if your motivation is correct.

Determine right now that you are going to make this a rich a powerful study. Open wide your heart and let God your Father enrich your life through the word.

James 1:21 “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”

Note! Make sure that you have a definite time and place reserved each day to engage in studying and praying so you can continue to grow by the word of God. Remember! “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17

To the degree you read and study the word of God and learn to apply it, this will be the degree of your faith and maturity in the service of God.

We are going to be studying the first principles of the oracles of God.

Hebrews 5:12 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.”

This is a training class and will only be successful if all our questions are asked and answered. We are going to deal with subjects that affect our direct ability to worship God in accordance to His word. We will not only teach the lessons as prepared but also try to offer insight in Christ to explain these principles in application to our everyday life. This class is a time and opportunity to ask assistance in areas of service that you may need advice or better understanding.

Please do not move on until you are content with your understanding of the topics in the lessons.
