Lessons to Convert

This Month's Theme:

Christ the King

As Jesus began and carried out His ministry here on earth, He preached the kingdom of heaven is at hand. This kingdom is the same kingdom that Isaiah prophesied concerning, over 700 years before the Lord would come.

Isaiah 9:6-7 "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

As Jesus went about His God given ministry in preparation for this kingdom, He created a wake in His path. Many believed Him to be the King of prophecy, many didn't. As Philip found Nathanael and told him that they had found the one that Moses spoke of in the Law (Deuteronomy 18:18), Nathanael doubted. After a sign from the Lord, he would say,

John 1:49 "Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel !”

After the great miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead, Jesus would enter Jerusalem . Great multitudes came out before Him and placed palm branches out in front of Him to honor Him, and they said;

John 12:13 "took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!' The King of Israel!”

As Jesus taught His chosen disciples, He would say to them;

Matthew 16:28 "Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.

On the Day of Pentecost; after the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection, the Apostles would preach the first Gospel sermon. They would speak of Jesus as now reining.

Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

Jesus is now the King of promise (2 Samuel 7:12-13). He will rule until He delivers His kingdom to the Father in the end, when all other rule and all other authority have been put down (1 Corinthians 15:24).

God has made Jesus the Christ, "THE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" - Revelation 19:16.

Here are some pleas this great King makes to all men:

Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.

Acts 4:12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Philippians 1:9-11 "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God."

Mark 16:15-16 "And He said to them, “ Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Ephesians 3:10-11 "to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord"

Romans 6:17-18 "But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness."

James 1:21 "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls."

2 John 9 "Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son."

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

Philippians 3:20-21 "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself."
