Hebrews 4:12-13 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

He is Faithful!

Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 2:1-13

When we consider “Faithful” as applied to God – 2 things:

1.     Absolute reliability!

Firm consistency and complete freedom from the arbitrary or fickle.

2.   His promises are sure and He is therefore worthy of trust!

Scripture that sets forth His faithfulness:

1 Corinthians 1:9 (share Vs. 4-8)

We were called by Jesus Christ – Ephesians 2:13; 2 Thessalonians 2:14

Conclusion: God is Faithful in Grace (Jesus the Christ).

1 Corinthians 10:13

The children of Israel had been brought near to God out of Egypt; completely cared for by God through Moses; yet:

·        Committed sexual immorality

·        Tested God

·        Spoke against God and Moses

These Christians were of the same pattern as Israel! Read: 11-13

God is faithful to provide:

“Way of Escape” = “All things that pertain to life and godliness” 2 Peter 1:2-3 through a knowledge of Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

Body – Physical, dust – Ecclesiastes 12:7; 1 Corinthians 15:47

Soul – (Heb. “Nephesh” – Grk. “Psyche”) Spirit while physical life exists – Acts 20:10 (Eutychus fell from the rafters).

Spirit – (Heb. “Ruach”, breath, – Grk. “Pneuma”, wind) Eternal essence – Luke 24:39; “a spirit does not have flesh and bone”, READ: 1 Corinthians 4:16-17

Conclusion – He can make our entire being blameless!!!

2 Thessalonians 3:3 – He is faithful to establish us and keep us from the evil one! Ephesians 6:10-20

2 Timothy 2:13 – “faithful saying”

Regardless of whether we act towards the grace provided or not, He is faithful.

His love was provided to all, whether all would choose to bask it or not; thus His judgment is also faithful (righteous). Gospel to the world – Mark 16:15-16.

1 John 1:9

Read – 5-10

Define 7 in relation to 9!

No matter what men may do; He is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness; as we return and walk in light (repentance)!!! Men make sins that are unforgivable; God’s power in Christ is greater, read – 2:1-2.

Final conclusion –

Since God is faithful; “lets us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” Hebrews 10:23
