SHARPER THAN A SWORD

SERMONS

Hebrews 4:12-13 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

Living For and By the Word of God!

Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 3:10-17

The faithful child of God has an enduring love for God and His Word.

·         It is by God's Word that the Christian is enabled to survive the troubles of life.

·         It is by God's Word that man is able to find true wisdom.

·         It is by God's Word that encouragement is readily available.

·         It is God's Word that is indispensable to those seeking to live each day for the Lord.

One of the great chapters in the Bible, which embodies a great love for God and His Word, is Psalm 119.

It is a chapter about walking, living, and meditating intently and at length within the distinct features of the Words of Life.

This great song teaches the student of the Scriptures the importance of loving God and His Word; in an attitude of thankfulness and of spiritual solace and perseverance.

·         This great Psalm is a treatise about trusting God in everyday life.

·         For every situation in life God has revealed His will.

·         All one has to do is seek the answer.

·         It is written, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!" (Psalm 119:11).

·         No one is ever justified in not obeying God.

·         Therefore, it is necessary to know God's will and store it up in the heart.

·         In seeking to please God one can attain true happiness.

·         Jesus taught that happiness comes from having an intense appetite to know righteousness. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled"(Matthew 5:6).

Yet, multitudes go without spiritual food depriving themselves of the blessings God has to offer, because they have no desire to lay the Words of Life in their heart in order to not sin against God.
