Hebrews 4:12-13 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."

The enduring word – Bible Study!

It is essential that every Christian realize that in order to live a faithful life (a life full of faith), they must consistently and regularly avail themselves of the vast reservoir of knowledge found in the Enduring Word of God (the origin of faith – Romans 10:17).

It is the deed to our inheritance in heaven (Acts 20:32); our best protection against sin (Ephesians 6:13-17); and it is the only way that our heavenly Father will advise and admonish us (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 12:5-11).

1.      Proper attitude towards Bible Study:

Diligence - 2 Timothy 2:15

Earnest desire as new born – 1 Peter 2:2

Reverence – 2 Peter 1:3

Power of God for Salvation – Romans 1:16

We reap what we sow – Galatians 6:7-8

Apostolic attitude taught for our understanding – 2 Thessalonians 2:15; 3:14

2.     How to Study:

One of the things that cause discouragement in Christians with regard to their studies is that they are not taught how they should study!

There has to be a system:

Rightly Divide -

The Bible from Genesis to Revelation is a Book of revelation given in dispensational relevance (administrations). It becomes vital to understand how to use the information in each dispensation correctly. Galatians 3:24; Hebrews 1:1-3; 5:12-14; 6:1-2; 9:15.

Note Examples; Illustrations -

Acts 5:42; 10:33; 20:7; 20:20; Hebrews 10:24-25

Helps -

Bible dictionary, center column concordance, concordance in the back, maps, etc…

Obedience -

1 John 5:3 – Whatever regiment we establish is irrelevant if we pick and chooses what we are willing to obey or not.

Be realistic -

You did not begin your secular education and complete it in a day, week, or year. You will not complete your spiritual education any faster, and it is designed to continue to educate you even in maturity!

The more rounded your knowledge is, the easier it does become to absorb and grow.
