Feeding Disorders!

There is a distinct diet that the scriptures indicate a Christian should use to nourish themselves!

Philippians 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel

Colossians 1:9-10For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God

1 Timothy 2:4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

2 John 1:9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.”

This very specific diet is a combination of both intake and exercise!

1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father”

1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.”

Hebrews 5:14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

With this stated, the Apostle to the Gentiles would warn Christians concerning certain dietary disorders they were not only to be aware of, but guard against at all costs.

1 Timothy 1:4nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.”

1 Timothy 4:7But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness.”

1 Timothy 6:3-5 If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.”

Titus 1:14 not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth.”

Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish disputes, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and useless.”

Just as in the instruction of Paul, Christians today seem to disregard the written truth of God’s word and have attempted to replace it, or pollute it with foolish writings, creeds, and an endless array of human doctrinal theories!

We must avoid these disorders at all costs and only feed on the pure word of God! We must eat in a wholesome fashion in order to avoid being lethargic, unproductive, and weak. We must learn to “Hold fast the word of truth!”

Philippians 2:12-16 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15 that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”

Holding fast the word of life gives every Christian the strength to recognize the futility of human wisdom and the evil subversion it causes within the Body of Christ!

EAT RIGHT AND EXERCISE!
